Thomond Park
Thomond Park is the home ground of Munster Rugby, one of the most successful and best-supported rugby clubs in the world. The famous venue is renowned internationally for its unique history and atmosphere. With an increased capacity of 25,600, this has allowed a record number of supporters to attend Munster Rugby matches.
From international rugby with Ireland v The Barbarians, the historic staging of two international football matches with the Republic of Ireland, hosting The Special Olympics Opening Ceremony, to concerts with performances by P!NK, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan, the stadium has delivered on its promise to attract the very best in terms of sporting and entertainment experiences.
Another addition to the Munster Stadium includes an Interactive Museum Experience which showcases the proud history and heritage of Muster Rugby. This contains a range of memorabilia such as the match ball from the famous victory against the All Blacks in 1978 and the 2006 and 2008 Heineken Cup trophies. The Museum also holds a range of interactive displays and touch screens portraying the tradition and history of the club and the exceptional bond it shares with its supporters.
Stadium tours can also be included with a museum visit, which allows visitors a look behind the scenes at the historic Stadium. Visiting places normally only accessible to players and officials on match days.
